The RFU is committed to supporting people from any background and is not afraid to move into new and ever more challenging areas of rugby development.

Since 2009 several projects have involved young people registered homeless. Working in partnership with local homeless charities the RFU staff aim to improve health, fitness and self-esteem with some of society’s most challenging individuals.

With the aim of eventually channelling the participants into long term participation in a rugby club the programmes simply start by creating a routine each week, getting the young people active and helping them engage with others in a similar position as themselves.

It is hoped that when they have move back into mainstream society they may find their way back into rugby.
