RBS 6 Nations Match Day Entertainment
Saturday 17th March sees Twickenham Stadium celebrating St Patrick’s day with Ireland providing the opposition in what promises to be a day to remember for fans of both teams. With the match kicking off at 5pm, we would advise that fans enter the stadium at least 45 minutes before to enjoy the atmosphere building as kick-off approaches.
Don’t forget that the West Car Park Village opens at 12 noon and the pre-match pitchside entertainment starts at 4.15pm so there is plenty to enjoy – even before the rugby starts
Anthem Singers
The RBS 6 Nations England v Ireland match will see two phenomenal talents from England and Ireland taking to the Twickenham pitch. Laura Wright, who previously performed at the summer fixture between England and Wales, will once again be singing the national anthem and she will be joined at pitchside by the emerging Irish talent Mairead Carlin who will be performing Ireland’s Call.
Sport Relief Big Hitters
The Big Hitters, a chorus of rugby legends, will try to hit all the right notes for Sport Relief with their version of the JLS official Sport Relief single ‘Proud’ when they perform at the RBS 6 Nations England v Ireland match on Saturday 17th March.
Brian Moore, Mike Catt, Colin Charvis, Bill Beaumont, Kelly Brown and Jeff Probyn are among the line-up which is known for its sporting rather than musical skills. They may have sung national anthems and rugby songs over the years but a three minute version of ‘Proud’, with solos, in front of the 82,000 Twickenham crowd, will be quite a challenge. Check out www.sportrelief.com for more details and to donate to this fantastic cause.
Royal Marine Commando Zip Line
While the Big Hitters are aiming for the high notes on Saturday, the Royal Marine Commandoes will be launching themselves from the roof of Twickenham Stadium for an incredibly dramatic flag parade. With the zip line used for the first time at the England v Wales game, it was something we had to do again.
GUINNESS pre-match pundit
The GUINNESS pre-match pundit will be pitch side and on the big screen. Former England international, and Rugby World Cup winner Joe Worsley will be previewing the game before kick-off and analysing the action at half time.
O2 Canons
Look out for the O2 Angels and O2 cannon at half-time for your chance to get limited edition O2 and England branded goodies. The O2 Angels will be parading around the edge of the pitch and firing out prizes into the lower tiers of the stands.
